We have started up our monthly Coverathons again and we are rather excited to share the news with everyone. The Coverathon was started shortly after The Bookery opened in 2010. It was an initiative of the Cape Times “a library in every school” campaign. It was originally organised by Lesley Bram, Promotions Coordinator at the Cape Times and one of The Bookery’s trustees.
Over the years the Coverathon helped prepare tens of thousands of books for under-resourced schools. All of this was thanks to Lesley’s hard work and dedication to The Bookery’s work.
The Coverathon was on a bit of a break for a few years but we have now reignited it. It is now fully organised by The Bookery and we are excited to invite you to our next one on 5 November 2016. We truly hope to emulate Lesley’s work and keep it a success. It will be running every first Saturday of the month.
Please let us know if you are keen to come along! You can RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org, so we can get an idea of numbers
And if you feel your covering skills are a bit rusty, don’t worry – we’ll refresh your memory and supply some snacks and refreshments.
VENUE: 79 Plein Street, Cape Town
TIME: 10am – 2pm
It’s a great relaxing way to spend your Saturday. We look forward to seeing you on the 5th!
P.S. We will also be selling some great books, so bring along some money or have your SnapScan ready.
